Insecurities have a cruel way of stripping from us things we value dearly, don’t they!
One day you think you are the world’s prettiest woman, and the next day, you can’t stand to see yourself in the mirror.
One day, you’re high on the social or academic ladder, and the next day you’re wondering what happened.
One day, you’ve got plenty of friends and the next, anxiety grips you like a hook and community becomes a dreadful thing to do.
The worst part is when you are scared that the things you’ve lost, you might never be able to recover.
Joy? Peace? Beauty? Fame? Sometimes, a plain ‘ol desire to simply live.
Some respond by accepting their fate while others respond with constant regret and bitterness. All in all, God responds with a promise!
Sometimes, it’s a promise of restoration. But other times, you have to simply give up because what you are hoping for is dead.
It’s only when it completely dies and you give up faith in your expectation and place that faith in God, that the promise of Resurrection can take effect.
Yes. Sometimes, it has to die…
… you have to ‘die’ so God can resurrect an insecurity-free you.
Below, I’m sharing with you the intimate words God gave me personally, in the form of a song, in a season when I was at my lowest, crushed by the weight of my fears and doubts that what I’ve lost is gone and gone forever.
He probably didn’t give them just for me. He knew you’d need them too!
You say I will live
Dr Daniela
You say things will change
Beauty is a thing
You bring in your own time
You say I will speak
To the dry bones rise again
Then I step behind
And rest my heart
And watch and see
God of Resurrection
Nothing you can’t revive
O Lord, You specialize
In bringing dead things back to life
God of Resurrection
Even Your death was for a purpose
My plans are not Your plans
My end is not Your end
So many times
I have decided that it’s ended
I just forget
That You’re the God
Who’s putting commas
Where I’m putting endings
I will wait
You’re not done with me yet
